Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü and Johannes Holfeld were selected for a research grant of the „Austrian Science Fund“ (FWF) for their work „Toll-like receptor 3 mediated Calcific Aortic Valve Disease“.


Award of the Austrian Atherosclerosis Society 2019

In May 2019 Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü received the Award of the Austrian Atherosclerosis Society at the annual society meeting in St. Gilgen, Austria for his work “TLR3 mediates the onset of calcific aortic valve disease”.

 


SCIENTIA Alumni Award 2019

Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü won the highly recognized Alumni SCIENTIA Award for his work “Shock Wave Therapy Improves Cardiac Function in a Model of Chronic Ischemic Heart Failure: Evidence for a Mechanism Involving VEGF Signaling and the Extracellular Matrix” in the Viennese Hofburg on April 1st 2019. 

 


Ethicon Award of the DGTHG 2019

Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü represented CARE Lab at the 48th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (DGTHG) in Wiesbaden, Germany. His work on “Thoracic radiation induces Toll-Like receptor mediated calcific aortic valve disease“ was awarded the “Ethicon Award“ for the best scientific abstract of the congress.

Annual Meeting of the Austrian Cardiology Society (ÖKG) and Cardiac Surgery Society 2018 Basic Research Highlights

CARE Lab actively participated at the Annual Meeting of the Austrian Society for Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery in Salzburg in June 2018. Michael Graber and Jakob Hirsch were nominated for their work on aortic valve calcification and radiation induced heart failure as Basic Research Highlights 2018 and presented during the Highlights Session.


ESPU First Prize Basic Research 2018

Felix Nägele represented CARE lab at the 29th Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Urology in Helsinki this year. He was awarded with the “First Prize Basic Research 2018” for his work on preventing bladder dysfunction after traumatic spinal cord injury via extra-corporal shockwave therapy.


EAU Meeting 2018: Best Poster in “What’s new from the bench: Treating or preventing LUTS”

Felix Nägele represented the CARE Lab this year at Europe’s largest Urology Congress, the EAU Meeting, which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from March 16-20 2018. He presented our work on “ESWT protects from bladder dysfunction after traumatic spinal cord injury via a toll-like receptor 3 dependent mechanism.” The project was honoured as the best poster in “Whats new from the bench: Treating or preventing LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms)”.
